1 Ashfield Road, Chorley, Lancashire PR7 1LH
Last week was a big one for our learners at our partner academies as across the country it was RESULTS WEEK for both A-level and BTEC students, we saw high success rates across all of our academies, including; Salford Red Devils, Rochdale Sacred Heart, Manchester International Football Academy ('MIFA'), Aspire2Be and London Football College. With outstanding results to be celebrated from both 1st year learners on programme, and final year students whose time with us has now drawn to a conclusion; these learners are progressing onto bright futures within University, Apprenticeships or Employment.
We caught up with one of our MIFA graduates- Taigh Wilson (pictured below) who achieved the highest BTEC results possible - D*D*D*
Taigh is now looking forward to attending Edge Hill University this September to study Sport Management and Coaching, and we were able to catch his immediate thoughts post-results...
"I am delighted with my results because I got the grades I wanted and needed. I feel I worked really hard the past two years to gain these results and I couldn’t be happier with them!
In September I start my 3 year course at Edge Hill University. I will be studying Sport Management and coaching. I decided to do this course firstly; because the course itself looks very interesting and fun and then secondly; sport management is something I always wanted to do because of the variety of opportunities it brings with it. Finally coaching is a hobby and a love of mine therefore I am looking forward to continuing with this at a higher level."
"The past 2 years has brought me to where I am now and I’m delighted. I've grown and learnt so much, for example my team work skills have improved which has improved my confidence and my motivation to succeed in life. This is from working with the other lads who had the same goal, which was to get the grades, but also to improve their Football ability, this shared vision really motivated me to succeed.
The Education and standard of teaching was great! Although it was difficult to get all the work done- the tutors are so helpful and they always made sure we submitted work that reflected the best of our ability. Whether that was sitting and talking to us one-to-one to give us motivation, or showing us what we need to work on; they helped me so much and this is why I feel I got the results I did.
After University I’m not too sure what I want to be doing. I would love to travel for a year maybe around Asia- that would be great! I will also still hopefully be playing football semi-professionally."
A massive congratulations to Taigh from everyone at Onside. However, he was far from the only one to achieve fantastic results...
Also from MIFA we have Taigh's classmate and fellow graduate ; Luke Nicholson. Luke excelled to achieve the results D*D*D* and will also be attending Edge Hill University this September- where he will be studying Sports Management and Development.
From Salford Red Devils, final year student Jack Ratcliffe graduated to achieve the fantastic BTEC results D*D*D
These results are richly deserved after 2 years of hard work and dedication from Jack.
Jack's future plans include continuing on his contract to play Rugby for Salford Red Devils, as well as potentially enrolling to do a Personal Training qualification. Best of luck for the future Jack!
Then also from Salford, we have 2nd year graduate Sam Bardsley.
Sam achieved D*DD and has since begun a coaching apprenticeship in partnership with Salford Red Devils Foundation, We Are Coach Core and Sports Group Ltd. Sam has also progressed to training full-time with the Salford Red Devils 1st team after spending part of his time training with the side whilst at the academy.
Massive congratulations Sam- we wish you every success for the future!
We would also like to congratulate Salford Red Devils Academy learners Dan Goddard & Mathew Jones on their incredible results for the 1st year- for which both boys achieved D*D*
This is a fantastic way to round off their year after they have just returned from playing in the U19 Rugby League championship in Serbia over the Summer.
Keep up the hard work boys!
Aspire2Be Academy was a new partnership formed for the last academic year therefore the cohort was composed of 1st years. However there are some excellent results to be acknowledged at the conclusion of the 1st year:
Including Momoh Sesay, Momoh was delighted to receive the highest BTEC results possible for the 1st year- D*D*
Congratulations to Momoh!
(Here he was earlier this year receiving the certificate for Outstanding Effort of the Year from his Onside Education Tutor)
Then from Rochdale Sacred Heart Academy we would like to congratulate graduate Greg Dyl for his amazing BTEC results- D*D*D*
These are outstanding results and demonstrate that hard work yields results. Best of luck for the future Greg!
From our London Football College Academy a huge congratulations to Kwame Asamany on his incredible BTEC results D*D*D*
Kwame was a high-achieving student throughout his time at the academy and his efforts have secured him a place at Southampton University.
Good luck Kwame!!
We are incredibly proud of all of our learners and the BTEC results they have achieved- whether they have just completed their 1st year; or whether they have now completed their time on programme with us.
We have seen some fantastic results this year across all of our partner Education & Sport academies. These programmes provide a unique further education experience, as opposed to a traditional college- and the results and successes speak for themselves.
Congratulations everyone and keep up the good work!
If you would like to be part of one of our academies this September then contact our team on 01257 278 131 as it's not too late to enrol!
